Add help for seniors to your home security system
Seniors in particular feel more secure with a home alarm system, but with a personal response system, the caregivers of the elderly can breathe easier, too. An option to most home security system allows someone who is ill or infirm to call for emergency assistance from any room in the house or even outside. A personal response system includes a small, wireless, waterproof button that the ill or infirm person can easily carry with them day or night. When they push the button, a two-way voice intercom is activated, so it is not necessary to be able to talk on the telephone. On the other end of the intercom is a person from your monitoring system, who will attempt to talk to the individual and determine what sort of care he or she needs. Several monitoring companies make long-range buttons that can be activated from outside the home. This is great for people who spend a lot of time gardening or at the pool. If you are researching a personal response system, be sure to ask your home security system’s monitoring service what kind of training their personal response team has. Be sure they have been trained to work with seniors and people with illness. Copyright © 2004 HomeAlarmSecuritySystems.com |
