Home alarms: When do you need more?
Most home security systems come with a basic package of detectors that trip the alarm when someone enters a door or window, and usually a motion-detector. But for some homes, a more sophisticated system is necessary. Who needs more than a basic home alarm system? People who own homes that have numerous windows and doors, own lots of valuables or live in a high-crime area. Here are some of the additional components you can add to your home burglar alarm:
Infrared-beam sensors – These infrared beams criss-cross a room in a pattern that sets off your alarm if someone interrupts the pattern.
Floor-pad sensors – When an intruder steps on the floor in a particular room in your home, these sensors trip the alarm.
Panic switches to trip the alarm – Usually installed in the master bedroom, these buttons allow you to alert authorities if an intruder is in your home.
Glass-breakage detectors – Unlike the standard window detectors, these trip your home alarm system when a window is broken. These are often installed in large windows that do not open.
Check with your home alarm installation expert if you think you may need a more extensive system. A professional can tell you everything you need to know about your home security alarm options. Copyright © 2004 HomeAlarmSecuritySystems.com |
